there’s nothing wrong with kids that trying to reason with them won’t make worse

Poetry Corner by Lia

Alone By Myself

As I lay on my

Back gazing at the sky,

I ask myself why

Do you rule,

While being school?

I am a pencil

Going to draw,

I am a law,

I am math,

In someone’s wrath.

I am a law to obey,

Sometime in May,

I am a book being read,

I am a bird going to bed.

Someday I say,

Let’s play.

sorry 'bout the weird formatting, I don't know what's going on with that

Happy Spring

The kids were so mad when they woke up this morning to see the ground all covered with snow, but we have these crocuses blooming and the tulips and daffodils are starting to poke their way out of the ground. So, happy official first day of spring!

The male of the species

Holly and Creed are over today, and Creed has spend much of his day sleeping in his little swing. No is incredibly jealous if I pay the slightest bit of attention to his cousin. Even when I am just smiling at Creed and talking to him I will suddenly find myself with a lap full of No. He feels very strongly about marking his territory.

On the planet Snoo

There's a Sesame Street skit running in my head about the Geefle and the Gonk, two muppets who can only eat nectarines if they cooperate together. The Geefle cannot bend his arms and they stay straight up over his head. Why should you care? I think No may be a Geefle. Whenever he walks on his own he keeps his hands up above his head until he starts to fall, and then his hands go straight out in front of him. I find it an odd posture as it doesn't help him with balance or anything. Maybe he's practicing to be a gymnast?
