there’s nothing wrong with kids that trying to reason with them won’t make worse

Because we are crazy

We went camping at Legoland.  More specifically, we camped in a thunderstorm where the rain was coming horizontally and we all got soaking wet.  Fun, huh?  The kids informed me on the trip home that we are never, ever going camping again.  Spoilsports!

It's Bob the Baumeister!

There was a new Star Wars exhibit.  I didn't
recognize a lot of it since I won't watch the 'first'
movies

June Bug Out

At the end of the school year the kids all have field days, the elementary school calls it June Bug out and Ben took the day off to spend with Emma's class.

Monkey see, monkey. . .

The alte brucke (old bridge) in Heidelberg has a statue of a monkey holding a mirror at one end.  Supposedly in ancient times there was a similar statue holding a mirror to reming those leaving the town that they were neither better than the ones they left behind nor the ones they journeyed towards.  Interesting thought, but all Noah cared about were the gymnastic possibilities.

Luxembourg Cemetery

Fathers and sons campout this year was in Luxembourg.  The boys camped out at the scout camp behind the Luxembourg American Cemetery and then had a service project cleaning the headstones.

The star denotes a medal of honor recipient

Patton's grave.  It's in a separate area because so many people want to see it
I'm thinking that a plain 'ol campout might sound like a bit of a let down after activities like these!

Luisenpark

Do you see how big those fish mouth are?  Freaky

Ben has taken a few days off work to accompany the kids to their end-of-year fieldtrips and activities.  This was Zak's class trip to Luisenpark, and after seeing the pictures all the kids want to go, so it's on the schedule for the summer!

End of the year performance and potluck

The last song was about spending time with your child every
day, because they grow up so fast.  Like I need to be reminded!

Mrs. Vohar has been a wonderful teacher for
Emma, I feel so blessed that she has been an important part of Em's life this year.  Events like this are a tad bittersweet for me, because watching my kids grow up is fairly bittersweet.  End of first grade! Even better was watching my kids pitch in to help clean up after the potluck.  It only took a little prodding, and they were all happy to help out.  Well, mostly happy.

Obviously, his father's genes

And, quite possibly, his father's inability to smile naturally in pictures.

Maybe the reason he's such a bad driver is the hat is over his eyes?

At least in No's case, we've been to Legoland several times now and he seems to get worse at driving the little cars every time we go.   We went with friends, and I got to hang out with the little kids.  Despite the boiling heat, we had a great time running around like crazies.
