there’s nothing wrong with kids that trying to reason with them won’t make worse

The baby boy

No started kindergarten today.  He has been anxious to start school for at least a year, when we found out he wasn't going to be able to start at the German Kinder because of the new rules about balancing numbers of Americans and Germans.  Anywho, now that it is finally HIS TURN he has been thrilled to get his backback, tour the school, meet his teacher and play on the playground.   On Monday when we dropped the other kids off he was highly indignant and angry that I wouldn't give him his backpack and let him go to his class.  What kind of mother keeps her child home from school, anyway?  (the kind who knows that the kindergarten kids don't start until Wednesday, that's who)

However, this morning we attended a boo-hoo breakfast which was intended as a fun way to start the first day of school, but where he refused to sit at a table with 'other people'.  I hauled him into my lap for a little cuddle and eventually he was able to sit and eat--but not make eye contact--with a table of people.  I guess the reality of school was a little too much for him.  We'll see what happens when I pick him up from school today.

Maybe with all the changes and traveling we've done this summer this was just one change too much?

By the way, I'd leave more comments if I could master this anti-spamming system Blogger has, but apparently I am a Cylon.
